The Green Team

Alex Baxter & Elise Hawkins
Sustainability Team
This week in the Green Team, our eco warriors helped Alba to pull out some weeds in the herb gardens in between the Year 1 classrooms. There were so many weeds which were getting in the way of the delicious herbs growing. The students really got to the ROOT of the problem! The students had fun pulling out big handfuls of weeds which will now be fed to the chooks.
Riding Bikes to School
It's been good to see so many Kingswood kids riding their bikes to school everyday. This is WHEEL-y good for the environment and also good for fitness and it helps to reduce traffic congestion around the school as well. Look how many bikes we saw in the bike shed on Thursday last week.
Keep it up!
Sustainability competition
The Kingston Council is running a competition for students from local schools to design a banner about not dumping rubbish near our roadsides. The winning banner design will be printed on a roadside banner and placed in areas in the local community where high dumping occurs.
If your child would like to enter, please print the attached entry form and fill it in. There are also printed entry forms available at the school office. Please give the completed entry forms back to the office by Friday 21st of September (last day of this term).
Good luck!
