Senior School News

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2017.  They had their final farewell at The Langham on Thursday 23rd November which was a great celebration to acknowledge their hard work and commitment to their studies, and the college, over the years. Thank you to the parents, guardians and families for attending this milestone occasion.

Our Whole School Assembly was held on Wednesday 29th November in the recently renovated Gym. It is the first time we have had the opportunity to recognise all students as a community. Congratulations to all students who received awards.

VCE Transition for 2018 has now concluded. Ensure you get organised over the school holidays, read set texts, begin making notes, and check Google Classroom. It’s imperative you give yourself the best start to VCE by getting organised and focused.

Year 10 Surf Camp

Year 10 Camp saw 45 students in Torquay for three days. Sun, surfing and stand up paddle boarding tested the students balance and determination. It was fantastic to see so many student throwing their all into the activities. To see the smiles as students stood up from being dumped by a wave and getting right back on the board was fantastic. Stand-up paddle boarding was new to a lot of the students and the concentration and coordination to keep moving and navigate over and under the bridges was phenomenal. Overall it was an amazing camp and I want to thank everyone for a great time.

Thank you to the Year 10s for a fantastic year and I wish you all the best over the holiday season and in your VCE endeavours.

Sporting Achievements

Alanna Gray and Sierra Danon coached the Year 7 softball team to the grand final of the SSV State Finals. Both coaches demonstrated outstanding leadership skills throughout the day. Their commitment to training and assisting the Year 7 students was exceptional.  The team finished second in state behind Glen Waverley. Well done Sierra and Alanna.

Final Note

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Matt Robson for all of his hard work, commitment and never ending positivity he displays towards the Year 10 students and staff.  I know he will be dearly missed as he moves on to bigger and better opportunities. On behalf of the Senior School Team, we thank you and will miss you.
