College Captains 2018 announcement

Luke Janson and Kaycee Gunn Cameron (College Captains) and Sara Riippa and Eliza Scott (Co Captains).  Congratulations, it was a very difficult decision based on the high quality of the interviews.

Introduction - Kaycee Gunn-Cameron

My name is Kaycee Gunn-Cameron and I hold the position of 2018 school captain for McClelland College. In 2018 I will be completing my year 12 studies, with the classes of ¾ Further Maths, Chemistry, English, Health and Human Development, Biology and Vet Dance. I wanted to be school captain for 2018 because I have always had the drive to be the best individual I could be and strive to do my hardest in all aspects of life and want to be a good role model to all around me. I believe I hold the qualities that it takes to be a leader to myself and everyone else in the school. I have excellent time management skills between my schooling, activities both inside and outside of school. My goal after year 12 and the next chapter of life is to get a profession within the medical field and completing further studies at university for the many years to come.

My goal during my position of school captain is to include removing the segregation between the school between year levels and particularly between the international students that come to McClelland, VCAL and VCE students as there is an unintentional division between all due to the different activities each group does and time frames of when at and not at school. I feel as the combination of these group will further develop the strength of the school and of the school value community as it brings all students as well as teachers together.

Introduction - Luke Janson

My names Luke Janson. This year I’m studying Physics, English, Business management, Legal Studies and Philosophy. I wanted to be a school captain as a way to utilise and demonstrate my leadership capabilities. After year 12, my goal is to attend ADFA (UNSW) and study a bachelor of business, and then find a career in the Defence Force as an officer.

Introduction - Eliza Scott

Hi! My name is Eliza Scott and I will be one of the co-captains for 2018. In year 12 I will be studying English, Business Management, Further Maths, Media Studies as well as doing a VET Music Sound Production course. I’m so excited to be in this role and to be working closely with the other captains. I really wanted to be on the captain team for 2018 because I had so many ideas for the year 12’s and wanted to make sure we all have a great final year at high school. My goals as a 2018 captain are to motivate everyone to work hard while still enjoying the year. Have a great 2018 everyone!

Introduction - Sara Riipa

My name is Sara Riippa and I am one of the College Co-Captains for 2018. In year 12 I will be studying Media, Maths Methods, Japanese, English and Psychology.

I applied to be a College Captain in order to involve myself in the McClelland community as much as I can in my final year. I also want to use my previous leadership experience in a way that reaches students across all year levels so we can collaborate to improve the school and the attitudes of each student.

During my role as College Co-Captain next year I hope to motivate students to get involved in school events throughout the year as well as the wonderful different departments across the school. I want every student to remember their time at McClelland College by engaging in positive experiences.

I'm excited to be a representative and leader for this school beside a passionate and hardworking team. I look forward to what the SLC and the students of McClelland will achieve in 2018.
