Year 7 Careers Activities Day

McClelland College is one of 13 local schools in the consortium linked to the Trade Training Centre building at Chisholm, Frankston.  On the 2nd November we ran the first Year 7 Careers Activity Day.  There was a huge array of businesses and employers there to talk to students and explain what careers are available and how to get into those industries.  There were trainers from areas within Chisholm providing hands on experience of what their courses involved such as Hospitality, Hair & Beauty & IT.  Many students and staff were seen showing off gorgeous new eyelashes courtesy of the Beauty Department.  The event took place over the three floors of the building which many of our students attend to study their VET (Vocational Educational Training) courses.  The students had a list of questions that they could take to each stall holder in order to gain more information.  We plan to do this again next year and it can only get better!
