Musical

Warrnambool College is delighted to announce that, in this world of COVID-19, the show will indeed go on!  We have been fortunate to secure a booking for Priscilla with the Lighthouse Theatre early in 2021, allowing all members of our outstanding cast and band to be available for the performance if they wish. Xavier Dannock, Assistant Manager of the Lighthouse Theatre says that after this pandemic, the Warrnambool community will be ready for theatre, and that Priscilla is a musical that people will WANT to see.

The fact that our school has the rights to this musical is a very unique opportunity in itself and we would like to make every effort to ensure that we can perform it to the highest standard possible. The fact that we have a dedicated and extremely talented cast, band and creative team up for this challenge is also unique. To this end, cast and band will have a weekly online “rehearsal” on Tuesday afternoons. These rehearsals will take the

form of whole and part cast script readings, whole cast dance routines, opportunities to learn vocals, and band parts, hair and makeup tutorials and other activities.

The goal is to keep the Priscilla spirit alive for all cast and band members and to provide a different learning opportunity for these students during these challenging times. The team behind Priscilla which includes parents, other students and theatre professionals will also have the opportunity to continue dialogue and planning throughout Term 2 and there will be regular meeting times for this team.
