Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day 2018

Last Sunday, the Sax Ensemble performed for the Remembrance Day Centenary service. A crowd of around 200 members of our community gathered to honour the troops and their services. We played the National Anthem, and It’s a Long Way to Tipperary shortly after to conclude the ceremony as the poppies were being laid. This was an amazing experience, as it gave us a new insight into the local families who lost their loved ones, and the opportunity to pay our respects to all who served. The ceremony, despite a few hiccups from a rowdy group of bikers, was humbling and peaceful, allowing us all to take a few moments from our day to remember those who fought to serve our country and ensure a secure future for us, and those to come.
