Children’s Book Week - Reading is My Secret Power

Children’s Book Week runs from 19th - 23rd August. The theme is Reading is My Secret Power. This week we studied Alison Lester and some students made watercolour pictures like in the book 'Noni the pony rescues a joey'.

Students are really looking forward to putting up their votes next week. We always do this the week before Book Week, so that the students get their votes in before the judges announce their choice of winners.

Come along to the parent sessions next Monday, 12th August, at 9:00am or Tuesday 13th August at 2:50pm to check out what your children are doing to celebrate Book Week.

During lunchtimes in Book Week we will be doing chalk drawing outside on the ground like in the book 'Chalk Boy'; making mini books, making clay models of animals or insects; word puzzles and our competition scavenger hunt.

Book Character Parade

We invite you to join us for

our annual Book Character Parade

in the Brigidine Centre on

Monday 19th August at 9.00am

Foundation to Year 6 students are encouraged to come dressed as a book character or something related to our ‘secret powers’ theme. There is no cost involved, just a chance to have fun with stories, books and dress ups.
