Kerry Bennett (Music Teacher - Morris)

1. When did you join The Friends' School?

June 2010 - nearly 10 years ago!  I moved from Brisbane to take up the position, and started teaching at Friends’ even before most of my belongings had arrived in Hobart.

2. What are you excited about this year?

This one is a tricky question to answer.  The year has taken a different turn and is not quite what we had planned.  At the moment, I’m looking forward to the challenge of staying connected to students and challenging them musically from a distance.  I know I’m also going to be excited to see them again when the time comes.

3. When did you know you wanted to be a teacher? 

I did a stint of primary music teaching for work experience when I was in Year 12.  From the first day, I knew that this would become my passion.  And here I am, many years later!

4. Where is your favourite place in the world?

Anywhere that I can cuddle my dogs!

5. Why Friends'?

I was trying to think about what it is that makes Friends’ special and I keep coming back to the people.  This is even clearer at the moment as we are working closely together from afar.

6. Who is your hero?

It’s got to be Wonder Woman!
