From the Principal...

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's,

I hope all the fathers and grandfathers had a great Father's Day and were able to get out and about to enjoy the sunshine over the weekend!

The Father's Day breakfast was very well attended. Thanks to all the staff who set up, cooked, served and cleaned up. Special thanks to Rachel, one of our lovely Foundation mums, who helped out with the breakfast.   The Father's Day Stall was successful once again. Thank you to the staff who ran the stall and to the mothers who helped on the day Dewi, Diana and Rita.  We really appreciate the support from the parent community to assist in the smooth running of community events such as these. Please consider assisting in future events.

Swimming - Years 3-6

Next week, the Year 3-6 swimming program will commence.

“I urge all Australians to watch their children around water, swim at patrolled beaches between the red and yellow flags, to wear lifejackets when on boats and watercraft, avoid alcohol around water and to teach their children about swimming and water safety,” said Minister McKenzie.

Learning to swim is one of the greatest skills we can bestow on our children. Each year hundreds of children across Australia die as a result of drowning at beaches, lakes, rivers and swimming pools. Our swimming program enhances private swimming lessons and for those who do not have regular lessons provides an essential exposure to water safety.

Early in Term 4, our Foundation to Year 2 children will take part in a swimming program at the Paul Sadler pool.

Photography Project

On Friday 13th September photographers will be at the school to take photos for marketing purposes. A note was sent home today asking for parent permission for your child to take part. The photos will be used to promote the school online, in the school newsletter and in a number of media outlets.

Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd (DOSCEL) and the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria Ltd (CECV) may also use your child’s photographs for marketing purposes, in digital and print formats. Licensed under the National Educational Access License for Schools (NEALS): NEALS is a license between education departments within Australia, allowing schools to use licensed materials for educational purposes. Photographs taken of your child during the photoshoot might also appear in materials made available to schools and education departments under this program.

Please return the permission form as soon as possible. Thank you!

First Communion Celebration

On Sunday, some of our Year Four students made their First Holy Communion.

They looked absolutely stunning as they reverently participated in Mass led by Father Joseph. Over the next two weekends the remaining Year Four students will celebrate their First Holy Communion.

Please keep the Year Four students preparing to celebrate their First Communion in your prayers.

God Bless,

Michelle Bruitzman
