Parents and Friends Association

Parents, how are you going?

At the August meeting of the PFA, parents were grateful and appreciative of the work being done by teachers, counsellors and support staff to assist their students through the period  of remote learning brought about by the COVID pandemic. There was a general discussion and exchange of stories about different scenarios playing out across the Nossal community.

However, the conversation was not just limited to impact on students though, with parents recognising the sacrifices being made by staff and families.  Some members of the PFA commented on their own circumstances noting occasional issues with things like IT while others commented on difficulties with supporting a number of students in a household and family members working from home.

The conversation sharpened the group's focus on the difficulties being felt by some and led to some members of the PFA offering to be a "friendly and empathetic ear" to others in a similar situation.

So, if you would like to chat with other parents in the Nossal community - perhaps to share what's working for you and your family or hear how they are responding to similar challenges, you might like to contact either of the following people.

Larry Larkins is the President of the PFA, but more importantly, Larry is a father to a Year 10 student at Nossal and previously had a son complete his education at the school. Larry can be contacted by telephone (0407 210 030) or by email, larrylarkins453@gmail.com

Tosca Nathan is a member of School Council and the PFA.  She is also the mother of a son in Year 9. Tosca can be contacted by phone (0497 634 358) or by email, tosca.nathan@gmail.com

Both parents have indicated their availability to connect with other parents even if just to say 'Hi'.  Why not give them a call?
