YOUNG WRITER AWARDS

The 2020 Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers

All students from Years 7 - 12 (aged between 12 and 18) are invited to participate in The Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers, a developmental award open to Australian secondary school-aged students across the nation.

The prize recognises writing excellence in three categories: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction and Poetry. Entries can include writing for readers of any age.

Shortlisted writers get the opportunity to receive mentorship from an established author. In 2020, the Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers Mentor is Will Kostakis. The prize is judged by representatives from Hachette Australia and Express Media.

All entries must be received by 11.59pm AEST, Monday 17 August 2020.

Students who are interested in learning more about the award or who would like to enter should speak with their English teacher or contact Mr Rodway, the English Learning Area Facilitator.
