Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. Coffee is a brewed drink made by roasted beans, coffee beans grow in the highland forests of Ethiopia, Sudan and northern Kenya as an understorey tree. The average Arabica plant is a large bush with dark-green oval leaves. The fruits, or cherries, are rounded and mature in 7 to 9 months; they usually contain two flat seeds and coffee beans.
BUT IS COFFEE GOOD FOR YOU?
Coffee is known for it’s high quantities of caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant drug, which means it speeds up the messages travelling between the brain and the body. It’s found in the seeds, nuts and leaves of a number of different plants, including Coffee Arabica. Consuming too much caffeine can lead to jitteriness, anxiety, heart palpitations and even exacerbated panic If you are sensitive to caffeine and tend to become overstimulated, you may want to avoid coffee altogether. Although coffee might have significant amounts of caffeine it doesn’t necessarily unhealthy, in fact thanks to the high levels of antioxidants and beneficial nutrients, it also seems to be quite healthy. Studies show that coffee drinkers have a much lower risk of several serious diseases including Parkinson’s.
STRANGE COFFEE
From Indonesia, Kopi Luwak or civet coffee is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. This is because the beans are collected from the faeces of civet cats who feast on coffee from plantations. The cat’s digestive process is said to intensify the beverage.
Egg Coffee traditionally known as Cà Phê Trung, Vietnam’s egg coffee is much more than a beverage. In fact, it’s almost a dessert. It was invented when milk was scarce in Vietnam so egg was used as a replacement. Combining condensed milk with egg in coffee sounds creamy and sweet enough.
