Pastoral Care News

This week saw a return to our wonderful TAS staff and CAT volunteers cooking for CAREVAN after our commitments were cancelled last term due to COVID social distancing requirements. Over 30 students joined the TAS staff during lunch and recess to cook chicken and fried rice for in excess of 100 people. This activity provides a great opportunity for students to meet other students within the school, improve their food hygiene and culinary skills, increase their confidence and give back to their community; whilst expecting nothing in return. Thank you everyone. Without volunteers and acts of kindness, such vital services and programs could not exist.

Next Monday we start collecting donations for our term III major activity “I CARE KITS” flyers have been delivered to all classes and students are aware of what item we are hoping they will donate. This activity is a wonderful way to demonstrate two of our elements from our school vision statement; Care and Service. Through this simple act of kindness, we can lift the spirits of those who are currently experiencing hardship or distress and bring a touch of sunshine to what may be a particularly dark period in their life.

This week has been particularly hard for many people who are being impacted by the events occurring in the world. Please take the time to keep those who are suffering either physically or emotionally in your thoughts and prayers and most importantly; be kind to yourself.

Stay warm, stay dry and stay safe.
