Principal News

Dear Parents, Students and Friends,

Following on from the Year Seven to Ten Report mail out, students will soon receive award certificates in their Homerooms for the seven Key Learning Areas plus Religious Education. A large number of students will also receive Principal’s Awards for overall Academic Achievement and their names are published in this newsletter. To have thirty-three percent of students receive a Principal’s Award is an amazing result given the extra pressure of Covid19 has put on students, parents and teachers.

The College photographs were held yesterday and I congratulate everyone for their presentation. Seeing all students in their full winter uniform made a wonderful site across the courtyard.

The recent cold weather is a reminder that winter is still with us and we will probably have similar weather for many weeks. With the recent Covid19 hotspots in NSW, plus Victoria in going further with lockdown, I remind everyone connected to our community to remain cautious with any cold or flu like symptoms and remain at home if you are unwell. If you have visited a NSW hotspot you should consider getting yourself tested for Covid, but at the very least, adhere to minimising the spread of colds and flu if you are feeling unwell.

I also request that everyone keep aware of NSW Health Updates and the College will also to inform you through Compass and Social Media if the current situation changes.

Finally, good luck to all our Year Twelve students in their upcoming HSC Trials. They commence on Monday 17 August. All students have been issued their exam timetable and exam rules and regulations have been explained. I ask parents to discuss transport arrangements with their student. Being on time is critical to a smooth start for everyone.
