Remote Learning and Staying Connected

Onsite Attendance

For those families who have applied for and been approved to have access to onsite supervision; you have been sent a link to the email you used in the application process, to log the days you are requiring over the next fortnight. This link will close at 5pm Thursday, so please check your emails and contact the office if you did not receive this.

For families who have not yet required the support of onsite supervision, but now find circumstances have changed, you will need to go through the application process that starts with filling out a google form. Once you submit this, the application process can take a few days, and may also require extra information being provided. Please contact the office if you need access to the application google form.

Quote of the week ~ There isn't one giant step that does it, it's a lot of little steps.

Staying Connected with

Jesse Winter - School Chaplain

Hey Miners Rest Community,

Just wanted to take a moment with you in the hope that these next few paragraphs would inspire you to open up with the right people in your world and encourage you that you’re not alone.

These past 6 months have been a roller coaster of mixed emotions which impacts on our energy, focus and drive in life. The constant changes in restrictions have made it difficult to plan, establish any type of flow in any area of life. While there has been some highlights amongst all the chaos, most of the time it can feel like we are all awaiting the next announcement.

Maybe you can relate, or perhaps your struggle at the moment is with mental health, the absence of in person relationships with family and friends, or the loss of a hobby or routine that would normally bring a certain level of satisfaction or sanity.

My aim is not to amplify or simply bring awareness to the struggle but to raise the question:   Who is supporting you?

This is a time where we need to fight for connection and conversation and I want to encourage you to open up with the right people – a spouse, a friend, a colleague, a mentor, a leader - and if necessary reach out for professional support. They may not be able to fix the issue but the right support can make all the difference.

Remember that we are in this together and that we all benefit from each other’s support, so we can continue to live our values and community at Miners Rest Primary School.

Please know that I am, and the rest of the Wellbeing Team at Miners Rest Primary School, are available for a confidential and judgement free chat. Reach out if you need.

Take care and stay safe,

Jesse Winter – School Chaplain
