School Council

Message from President Benjamin Mihail

The school community faced another unexpected turn of events last week with the announcement from the state government that all schools would be returning to remote learning.  This has clearly added a level of stress to households having to juggle family life, home schooling and working parents, but it also presents opportunities for households where learning can take place in areas other than the (makeshift) classroom. Alternative learning environments could be out in the garden or in the kitchen.

I believe that this time around, we are much better prepared for remote learning having already gone through it earlier this year where everyone was feeling their way around and trying to find a way to make it work in a most effective manner.

The most important part of this whole process is that we, as a school community, continue to support each other and keep the communication channels open as the landscape of what we consider 'normal' continuously changes throughout 2020.

I would like to acknowledge all of our staff whose hard work and dedication towards the education and welfare of our students have not gone unnoticed and also many thanks to Dale who has shown strong leadership throughout this whole process.

I would like to finish with a massive congratulations to our students who have adapted extremely well to whatever changes were made showing great resilience throughout the year. You are all champions!

Benjamin Mihail

School Council President
