Inquiry Learning

This term students from Prep- 6 will engage in learning in Inquiry through the big concept of Place and Space. Inquiry learning engages students by providing explicit teaching of the necessary skills and processes students need to be successful inquirers. This is done through contemporary practises that are differentiated and allow for all students to succeed. Inquiry allows students to investigate and apply their knowledge to new and relevant situations.

To ensure that Inquiry teaching is engaging and relevant teachers should provide students with a variety of provocations and experiences that ignite student thinking. Students should also have access to a variety of resources including artefacts, concrete materials, problem solving resources and contemporary tools relevant to their inquiry.

Each learning community has their own big question that will be driving students’ inquiry.
