Whole School Parent Fundraising Group Raffle - Wrap - Up!
The Whole School Assembly Parents’ Fundraising Group Raffle 2022, returned for the 1st time since 2019, creating quite a bit of excitement before what was a tearful and joyful farewell to the year 12’s.
The Parents’ Association would like to sincerely thank the entire MGC community for wholeheartedly getting behind this initiative, resulting in raising approximately $9,000 in funds that will go directly back into the school, by way of providing extra ‘resources’, requested by teaching staff, funding student initiatives and creating community events. The extras that your support provided, can’t be accommodated in the schools, Department of Education budget.
Many of the prizes were donations from our extremely generous MGC parent community, as well as from our neighbourhood community. This community support allowed the PFG Raffle organisers to increase the number of prizes to be won and spend lesson purchasing prizes, resulting in greater profit! We are so grateful!

There were some incredible prizes to be won, however, the one prize that created the biggest ‘buzz’ and anticipation, whilst the wheel (created by our wonderful Librarian, Beth Barrass), spun was… the 10 Kilo Cadbury Chocolate Block won by: YEAR 7- Brae Naughton! Featured below , sharing her win with her siblings, evidently moments before her orthodontist appointment!

A huge Thank you to the MGC office staff Rebecca,Jodi and Marilyn, who handled much of the admin. work for the raffle with a smile, patience, and a ‘can do attitude’!
WE are also hugely grateful to Beth Barass, MGC’s totally amazing Librarian (and so much more), who allowed the PFG to climb into the library window to create a prize display, despite the chaos we caused and for her non-stop effort to record every ticket purchased into a fabulous electronic prize draw wheel, right up until 8 am on the day, with an hour to go before the draw!
Without Beth and the office staff and of course the support of our business manager Nancy Sandilands and our Principal, Tamy Stubly – THE RETURN OF THE PFG RAFFLE , would not have happened!
We had a number of more family or adult oriented prizes, that will now be included in our upcoming SILENT AUCTION !
