Senior School News
Our Year 12 students have completed their classes and are preparing to begin their exams. We had a great time on Tuesday’s Celebration Day at Funfields. It has been a long journey to get to this point, but the exams are getting close now. The Year 12 exams will run from Wednesday 26th October until 16th November. Good luck to all students doing Year 12 exams over the next few weeks.
Current Year 9 -11 students have been given a draft of the subjects they have been allocated for 2023. These were posted recently and students have been given some time to request changes. We are finalising a few things with some students who have gaps in their program due to subject clashes and sorting out some waiting lists. Once this has been done we will post the modified list. Students will have another opportunity to change their subjects during the transition week.
Our Year 10 & 11 students will begin their exams on 18th November and continue until the 23rd November. Most Year 10 & 11 classes are working on their last topic now before they begin exam preparation. We will be using the progress throughout the semester along with assessment results to confirm that students have chosen appropriate subjects for 2023 and the exams will form a small part of that discussion. A reminder that final placements for next year will depend on results from this year. We need to know that students have chosen an appropriate course for 2023 that suits their interests and strengths.

From the College Captains
A sincere thank you to everyone who has assisted and supported us throughout the year, especially due to the difficulties that Year 12 brings. A very special thank you to Mr Peterson and Ms Brancatella for their involvement in aiding us with both our leadership areas as school captains and part of the executive committee (as well as coping with the stress of Year 12). We would also like to thank all of our teachers for their constant endeavour and support.
From the bottom of our hearts we wish everyone the very best of luck during the upcoming exam season! All our fellow Year 12s have worked so hard to achieve outstanding results in their subjects. We wish to remind you all once again that even though exams are incredibly stressful, there is no one that can take your performance away from you. You’ve worked for this very moment throughout your entire academic life and it is sure to pay off!
VCE in particular has been a long two years and it is nice to finally be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As Year 12s, we have overcome a multitude of challenges, considering the mountain of SACs we have experienced this year. The turmoil and hardship behind these have indeed taken a toll, but at last we will finally be completely free… only in about 1 more month (fear not you got this!).
Although most of our lives, 13 years of it to be exact, have been spent in a classroom, rigorously learning and striving to be the very best versions of ourselves by the end, this is hardly the end. It is simply just the beginning and as we move together onto the next major chapters of this story called life, we need to remind ourselves that results are not all that defines our capabilities but it is the courage and effort that we put out that must be highlighted! A world of opportunities awaits us, so do not be anxious or scared of ending high school (remember the memories and be even more excited of the ones that will come!).
