Year 5 Swimming Program (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF SWIMMING DATES)

The Year 5 swimming program started yesterday and will take place over two weeks at Bluewater. The following days are when our Year 5’s will have their swimming lessons:

Wednesday 19th October, Thursday 20th October, Monday 24th October and Wednesday 26th October.

 

Lesson times will be as follows:

11.00 am - 11.30 am - 5RO

11.30 am – 12.00 pm - 5JR

12.00 pm – 12.30 pm – 5KE

 

Thanks to the parents who volunteered to walk with the students to and from Bluewater. Can you please meet your child’s class at the gate in Pound Road (middle gate) 30 minutes before the swimming lesson starts? Please make sure the office staff has a copy of your Working With Children’s Check. 

 

Year 6 Swimming Program

The Year 6 swimming program will commence on Monday 28th November until Friday 2nd December at Bluewater. Lesson times will be as follows:

12.00 noon – 12.30 pm - 6KT

12.30 pm – 1.00 pm – 6LG

 

Drink Bottles

All children are reminded that they need to bring a drink bottle to sport.

 

Football Jumpers/Netball Dresses

All footballers and netballers are reminded to return their football jumpers and dresses a.s.a.p. 

 

Hot Shots Tennis

This Wednesday 19th October, a number of students from Year 5 and 6 will represent Sacred Heart in the Colac Division Hot Shots Tennis Championships. This will take place at Sacred Heart Primary School. Students will play both singles and doubles tennis against other schools from the surrounding area. Children will need to wear their sports uniform and hat, bring along their drink bottle, snacks, fruit and lunch (tennis racquets will be supplied). The competition will start at 9.15 am and finish at 1.00 pm. Unfortunately, children in Year 5 who are competing in the tennis championships will not be able to attend swimming lessons on the day. Parents are invited to drop in and see their child play tennis on the day.

 

Geelong Cats GMHBA Healthy Hero’s

On Tuesday 25th October students in Foundation and Year 4 will participate in the Geelong Cats GMHBA Healthy Hero’s Program. This will consist of two sessions - the first session is the “Healthy Hero’s Session” where students learn about being healthy e.g. foods, drinks, exercise etc. The second session will have the students involved in a Football Clinic. Students will need to wear their sports uniform and school hat. Children may like to wear their football jumper, scarf etc as well. Football boots are not required.

 

T-20 Cricket

On Friday 4th November, the Colac Division T-20 Cricket competition will take place at the Colac Central Reserve. This will involve students from Year 5 and 6. Trials will begin this week at school for students who are interested.
