Sport news and upcoming dates

On Friday 14th we had a number of Year 5 students attend a leadership session at the Yarra Centre. Students enjoyed this experience and I'm sure came back with many new skills and ideas.

On Monday 10th our Year 5 and 6's went to Upper Yarra Secondary where the Year 9 leadership students worked with them to develop their orienteering skills. It was great to see the cross collaboration between schools in action. Congratulations to Chelsea H and Jade who were the winners and now hold the orienteering course record at Upper Yarra.

Upcoming dates:

Friday 21st Oct: Year 3-6 Orienteering excursion at Maroondah Dam

Friday 4th Nov- Foundation-2: Junior Sport excursion at Upper Yarra Secondary

Monday 7th Nov: Whole school soccer clinic

Orienteering

What a great day was had by the Middles and Seniors at the Orienteering at Maroondah Dam.  There was lots of resilience shown as the students ran and walked over 3 kilometres, reading maps and hunting for control flags.

Congratulations to our winners and place-getters.

Harry and Sam, Natasha and Makenzie, Alistar and Ryder, Chelsea and Jade, Daniel, Aden and Ethan Hill.

Special mention to Harry, Jack and Izack who placed in 'The Maze'.

Extra special mention to Dylan from Middles who was complimented on the way he worked independently to find the controls and then helped students from other schools.
