Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to our final term for the year. It has been wonderful to see all the students return from their break excited to get back into the classroom and ready for another term of learning.

We are seeing some warmer, not necessarily drier, weather over the next few weeks. This is a great reminder to ensure your children’s hats are in their bags, labelled with their names. We are a Sun Safe school, this means any students without a hat will play in the shade. If you have misplaced your child’s hat, they are available for purchase from the front office for $10 or alternatively they can be purchased online at: https://windanguniforms.company.site/

Although the rains haven’t been as heavy, key personnel from the NSW Department of Education and myself are continuing the discussion for a long term solution about the excess water that gathers on the football field and outside the toilet block. The department personnel have visited our school several times and most recently last Friday. I will keep families informed on the progress on this matter.

The Minister for Education recently announced there would be an additional School Development Day at the end of the year. This means students will finish school in week 10 on Friday 16 December, not the Monday as previously planned.

It is also that time of year where our current year 5's are given the option to sit for the Selective High School Assessment. Applications for the assessment are open now and there are more details in the "Yr5 Selective Exam" section of this newsletter. If you would like any further information in regards to this please contact the school office.

Windang PS 80th Anniversary Celebrations Program

Kindergarten 2023

The Kindergarten Orientation program started with a relaxed “Meet & Greet” event where staff, families and children had an informal opportunity to chat and experience the wonderful community culture that is evident at our school.

At Windang PS, we know that perfection isn't attainable but we know that if we chase perfection we will reach excellence.
