Introducing our School Leaders

S. Cummings - Stage 3 Assistant Principal

At St Johns Park Public School, we have 4 school leaders - 2 captains and 2 vice captains. The leaders are firstly nominated by their grade peers in Year 5 who then vote for the top 12 candidates. The successful 12 students, 6 boys and 6 girls, then create a campaign poster and each deliver a speech to students and teachers in Years 2 - 5. These students vote, as well as our teachers, and our leaders are then selected from the counting of the votes. This year our school leaders have been involved in many events from hosting our whole school ANZAC Ceremony to Stage assemblies and working collaboratively on a project within the Cowpasture Network, always respectfully representing our school. We are proud of their behaviour and the leadership skills they have demonstrated throughout the year.

Introducing our 2022 School Leaders

Ruby - School Captain

When did you start your St Johns Park PS journey?

In 2015 I started at St Johns Park Public School in the preschool and then Kindergarten in 2016. In Kindergarten I was in KA with Angelina.

What do you like best about our school?

I really like the friendly students and teachers at our school.

Why did you want to become a leader?

I wanted to become a leader to help and lead others to show them how to be and act responsibly. Leadership will also support me in the career path I want to pursue as a Chief Executive Officer.

Alexander - School Captain

When did you start your St Johns Park PS journey?

Almost eight years ago, I entered the gates of St Johns Park PS for the first time in preschool in 2015 and I immediately embarked on this wonderful journey. I was in KH with Akara.

What do you like best about our school?

Our school is exceptional in so many ways. The two things that are most prominent to me are the care and compassion of each teacher that has taught me and the comradery and friendship among fellow students which is evident in our learning, the playground and sporting events.

Why did you want to become a leader?

St Johns Park PS has provided me with many enriching opportunities and experiences, from the State Spelling Bee to debating and chess. I wanted to become a leader and give back to the school community for all that it has given to me.

The friendly atmosphere in the classroom and also in the playground.

Why did you want to become a leader?

I wanted to become a leader to represent St Johns Park PS at school events and also outside commitments that we are involved in such as Leadership by the Cowpasture. I also enjoy public speaking which is an important skill to possess as a leader.
