Cowpasture Network Public Speaking Competition Finals

In Week 3, we attended the Cowpasture Network Public Speaking Competition Finals, which were held at William Stimson Public School. With 12 students per stage each representing their own school, we all came together in one place to compete as a whole. We had the opportunity to learn from others, and we had fun as a team.

It was a challenging competition. Everyone had to present their prepared speeches, followed by an impromptu speech. The latter was probably the most difficult aspect of the competition. Although we were quite nervous, as it was our first time presenting at a different school in front of other teachers, parents, students and adjudicators, it was nice to have supporters in the audience. Seeing our parents and Mr Truong in the audience helped us to stay calm and do our very best.

After listening to all the speeches, two adjudicators had reached the difficult decision to conclude who the winners were. They stated that it was a very close call, and surely it was. Unfortunately, we didn’t win in our own stage competitions this time around. However, we all enjoyed the experiences and were grateful for the opportunity to compete in the competition.
