Year 4 Camp

Aussie Bush Camp

Our Year 4 students spent three days at the Aussie Bush Camp experience, from Monday to Wednesday of Week 3. Many thanks to Mrs Simons, Mrs Krishan, Miss Heang and other staff involved, for their spectacular organisation of this successful camp.

Here are some comments by our students, detailing their experience and learning...

"I loved camp it because it was so much fun. My favourite part were the arrows (archery) and the rock climbing."

"What I enjoyed about the Year 4 Aussie Bush Camp was the Flying Fox. You will never forget that activity. Although it started raining, we had the time of our lives.  First you put on a harness. Then the instructor will hook you onto a rope, which will connect to the hanger. You have to push off the tall tower and you’ll see the magnificent view of the lake underneath."

"The Year 4 camp was amazing. Although it was raining, we all had the time of our lives! To the serene and crazy activities and beautiful campfire. The giant swing was personally my favourite. So exciting, yet scary! You can make new friends with the people around you. Who cares if you get dirty? The main thing about camp is to have fun!"

Alyson 3/4K

"I’ve enjoyed the cabins the most and the food because we got to choose what meals we could eat. The best part is we could go swimming. Go if you are scared…there is a creepy story!"

"I really liked camp. It was extraordinary with canoeing, the beach, sand dunes, giant swing, flying fox and my favourite, archery. The best part was the night because we got told a story, had cookies and milk and we got to sleep in the same cabins as our friends. The food is really good and after we eat, we get ice cream."

Damien 4T

"What I enjoyed most about camp was the giant swing because it’s really fun and you can see that you are very high and when you pull the string, it gives you a little heart attack."

Nicholas 4H

"The thing I enjoyed most was the endless amount of activities and how fun they were with friends and also teamwork. It was also fun at night with the quiz and the sand dunes where we could roll and run down. The beach was one of my favourite because we got to swim."

Ari 4H

"I’ve absolutely loved the canoeing as Mr Lu’s canoe even capsized. I loved the chocolate milk and the ice creams were so good. I would certainly go to the sand dunes and beach again! The instructors were very nice. Our instructor almost made a snow cone fight and it was chaotic! I loved coming here and it felt like home for three days."

"I think the best part about the Year 4 camp was the campfire because we got chocolate milk and cookies for supper and sat around the campfire. I also like how they gave us snow cones for morning/afternoon tea and ice cream after dinner. What I would say to future campers is to just have fun."

Sidney 4G

"I really enjoyed game night/trivia night because there were games like where you had to put a ping pong ball between your knees and waddle pass the cones in a zig-zag way and drop it in the bowl or the cup inside the bowl. We were also put into teams, had trivia questions and had to draw artworks. Anyone who goes will have more than a good time!"

"During 24th to the 26th, I had an epic time at the Great Aussie Bush Camp. They had amazing meals and fun activities such as canoeing, dual flying fox and the giant swing. The instructors were very kind, respectful and safe. I had fun with my friends inside my cabin. We also sang lots of songs while walking to the activities, went to the sand dunes and the beach!"
