Looking Forward in Primary School

Mental Health Week

In Week 2, we will be raising awareness for Mental Health Week. The celebrations will include all students from Pre- Prep to Year 12 and we encourage our primary students to really get involved in the range of activities that are organised for the week.

We will be launching Mental Health Week with a ‘Wear your Clayfield College sports clothes to school day’ on Monday 10 October. Students are to wear their sports uniform to school on the day and enjoy the lunch time activities available on the oval, such as ‘teacher versus student ball games’!   There is no gold coin donation associated with this day.

Other highlights of the week include a “Paint and Chill’ at lunch time Wednesday, where students will be given a choice of plasters to paint. Choices include cupcakes, safari animals, flowers, rainbows, and Australian animals. All materials are provided for this activity and students will be able to take their masterpieces home afterwards.  We have a petting zoo coming out Friday, where teachers will be booking their classes in to hug a pet!

Posters will be up around the school telling students what is on and where the activity will be in the school. We look forward to raising awareness of this important event.

Book Fair

From 24 October (Week 4), we will be hosting a second Book Fair, with a ‘Buy One, get one Free’ offer! Come in and look for the perfect stocking filler or Christmas gift.

All students will get to visit the fair and create their wish list during the week. Details for how to order are on the back of the wish list, which they will bring home. The fair will be open to parents between 8:00 am and 9:00 am on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 October, in case you would like to choose a Secret Santa gift too.  If you don’t need two books, you are also invited to donate your free book to the school library.

Talk on the Terrace

Please join Miriam Bryan (Assistant Head of Primary) and Robynne Bailey (Prep to Year 2 Coordinator) for an informal chat on Leopard Terrace - Thursday 27 October, 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm.

Students can join us once they are released from class.

We hope to see you there.

Clubs Program – Term 4

Please see attached our Club offerings for Term 4, which will commence in Week 2.

We look forward to your child participating in the Clubs program throughout Term 4. Further, we hope these additions to our Extra Curricula Program will provide students with quality opportunities to develop their skills during some fun, friendship building activities.  Unless otherwise advised, please note that all clubs will run up to and including the second last week of term.
