We are almost there, and the excitement is palpable!

This week’s whole school run-throughs were fantastic and extremely valuable! It’s great to see it all come together, and the students’ excitement and engagement rose as they were able to watch other grades and their friends and siblings perform.

IT IS VITAL THAT CLASS TEACHERS KNOW IF A STUDENT IS UNABLE TO ATTEND ON ANY NIGHT. OTHERWISE, THEY WILL BE PLACED ON THE SIGN-IN/OUT SHEET, AND TEACHERS WILL BE WAITING FOR THEM TO ARRIVE.

Here are the final arrangements for Monday’s dress rehearsal and TUESDAY's & THURSDAY's performances.

MONDAY – DRESS REHEARSAL AT UNION HALL

Students arrive at school as per a normal day in school uniform.

Buses will transport them to and from Union Hall.

If you haven’t already completed the permission form and paid for the bus, please do so, or speak to the office.

Students will take with them:

  • their costumes
  • water bottle
  • lunch & snacks – please be mindful that we are trying to keep the venue as tidy as possible – therefore, “crumbless” snacks would be preferred wherever possible. Please try to avoid chips and popcorn etc.
  • they may also like to pack a book or colouring in sheets, pack of cards or other card games. These can stay at the venue for use on the nights of performances

The school pick-up time will be as normal.

TUESDAY AND THURSDAY ARRANGEMENTS

  • Students arrive and leave from the hall each night in SCHOOL UNIFORM – Please ensure all items are named
  • Students may bring – snacks, a water bottle & a book, a card game or colouring sheets
  • NO DEVICES, PLEASE
  • STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BE SIGNED IN AND OUT BY AN ACCOMPANYING ADULT – EVERY HOUSE TEACHER WILL HAVE A SIGN-IN/OUT SHEET. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE WITHOUT AN ADULT’S SIGNATURE
  • At the conclusion of the performances, students will exit the stage and return to their dressing rooms, where they will change back into their school uniform. Parents are asked to be patient and remain seated until all students have left the hall.
  • STUDENTS WILL BE PICKED UP FROM THE SAME DESIGNATED AREAS AS THEY ENTERED. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FOR THIS WILL BE DAREBIN, WHO WILL BE WAITING IN THE “DINING ROOM” INSIDE, DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THE HALL  - THIS WILL BE SIGN POSTED FOR EASY ACCESS
  • For ease of foot traffic, we ask that the audience not enter the hall until 6.30 pm

Below are three maps

  1. Car parking details
  2. Map of the walkway from the car park to Union Hall
  3. Union Hall & the students’ entrances (also detailed below)

STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE FAMILIARISED WITH THEIR HOUSE ENTRANCES AT MONDAY’S DRESS REHEARSAL AT THE HALL.

  • THURSDAY NIGHT – ALL COSTUME ITEMS BROUGHT FROM HOME WILL BE TAKEN HOME BY STUDENTS
  • ANY ITEMS PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL NEED TO BE LEFT AT THE HALL FOR STAFF TO TAKE

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. There is no photography or filming during the performance, please, as it can distract the concentration of the students on stage
  2. We also ask that audience members, no matter how excited, do not call out students’ names or wave when they appear on stage. It is imperative they are listening for dialogue & music cues and cannot be distracted by trying to locate family members in the audience.
  3. The production is being videoed
  4. Students may arrive at school late on both Wednesday and Friday following performances
