A note from the Stage 3 teachers

Welcome to Term 4 and the final term of primary school for our Year 6 students! It has been lovely to see students settling back into school routines after the school holidays. Stage 3 teachers can’t believe that we are in the last term of the year. This year has certainly flown by! We look forward to working with students this term to help them achieve their goals.

Geography

Our Geography unit this term is ‘Connections and Perceptions’. Students will be:

  • identifying what they think about different places in the world
  • discussing factors that influence people’s perceptions of places eg media, culture, education, travel
  • learning to consider how stereotypes and generalisations about places can affect those places and relationships

Using images and videos and the ‘See, Think, Wonder’ routine, students have begun to look at the selected stimulus, write down observations of what they see, use their inferencing skills to decide what they think about their observations and then wonder what else might be happening.
