Deputy Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 4! We’re looking forward to the many events coming up this term as we head into our last term of the year.

Loud Shirt Day

This Friday 21 October, we will be participating in Loud Shirt Day. All students are invited to 'wear it loud' for children with hearing loss. Our SRC have chosen to recognise this day to support the students in our school who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation and wear a loud shirt or colourful socks to support the day. All funds raised will go to the Next Sense Foundation, which is one of the four societies linked to Loud Shirt Day and one that many of our students work with to access support.

For more information, visit the Next Sense Loud Shirt Day website.

Check-in Assessments

Students in Stage 2 have been participating in the numeracy and reading check-in assessments over the first week of term and into Week 2. Students in Year 5 will complete the assessments in Week 3.

The Check-in assessment is a NSW Department of Education online literacy and numeracy assessment available to support schools to assess and monitor student learning. It supplements existing school practices to identify how students are performing in literacy and numeracy and helps teachers tailor their teaching more specifically to student needs. Students with a disability may receive the same level of support during the assessment they would normally receive in the classroom.

Tell Them From Me Student Survey

Students in Yrs 4-6 will be completing the Tell Them From Me survey in Week 3. Information was sent home last week regarding the survey, including an opt-out note. Please ensure opt-out notes have been returned to school by Friday 21 October if you prefer that your child does not participate.
