Christmas Concert
As Week 8 comes to a close, the students across the Senior School have been providing for the next Big Thing – the Christmas Concert!
Each class will be rehearsing and filming their own item over the course of the week. The students are dedicated and determined to present the best Christmas Concert item they can and have been rehearing nearly every day.
Please keep an eye on your emails for any communications from your classroom teacher about costumes and/or props!
Public Speaking Competition
Students across the school entered the second phase of our Weeden Heights Public Speaking Competition.
Last week, the students presented their speeches – which ranged from persuasive speeches to discussions about the value of specific ideas and topics - to their classes.
This week, a select few students from each class will be presenting their speeches once again – only this time, to their entire grade level!
We wish all the best to those chosen students, and look forward to hearing the speeches from other classes!
Tabloid Sports
On Monday morning, directly after assembly, the grade 3 and grade 3/4 took part in their first Tabloid Sports session! After recess, the 4/5 and 5/6’s had a session of their own.
After a term of remote learning, the focus was on fitness and activities ranged from a series of relays, to an obstacle course, to an all-out Tug-O-War! There was laughter, cheering and sighs of exhaustion throughout the session. Most importantly, smiles could be found everywhere you looked.
