Book Week 2021

The day started with the sun shining brightly in the clear blue sky. A buzz of excitement could be heard.  The children started arriving at school dressed as their favourite book characters and who could we see coming out of the office but Cruella Da Ville (I mean Mrs Thomson), only the famous people come to our Book Week Parade.

Thank you to the parents who stayed and watched the parade. All the costumes were fantastic and we even had a couple of original stories and the authors dressed up as their main character.  Each class paraded around outside the decking areas and proudly told which character they were.

After a class photo, all the students got into multi-aged Well-being Groups for some creative activities and games including an Art Competition (see below).  Mrs Thomson and myself had a very hard job picking a winner so this year there were lots of runner up prizes.  Not only were there prizes for the Art Competition but for the best costume. As you can see from the photos the judges had a tough job.

The smiling faces, the chattering and general buzz made the morning a wonderful success.  Can’t wait for next year’s Book Week.

Keep up the reading and discovering.

Kind regards
