News from MLC
After what feels like forever, it is great to have everyone is finally back in the classroom. The students were greeted by streamers, balloons and a ‘Welcome Back’ display. It was so good to see all the students again after so long teaching them through a screen. The kids were excited to see their teachers and their friends again. They were given the opportunity to share exciting news with their classmates and fill them in on everything they had been dying to tell their friends. It was great to hear laughter in the air and see the smiles on everyone’s faces.
In Maths, the students in MLC have been learning about time, including how to read a clock. Using an interactive clock on our touch screen TV, students were given the task of using the touch screen to represent a time on the interactive clock. The kids would be given a time and they had to show that time by moving the hour hand and minute hand and correctly show it on the screen. Everyone did such a fantastic job. I definitely won’t be hearing the question “Mr. Brophy, what is the time?” anymore.
In RE, we have been learning about forgiveness and Reconciliation. As a class, we read the story of the Prodigal Son. The students were given a task of breaking the story up into the four stages of Reconciliation: Admitted (where you admit you're wrong doing); Sorry (where you say sorry for what you did); Forgive (where the person who did the wrong thing receives forgiveness from the person they wronged); and Reconcile (where the person who did the wrong thing and the wronged person move past the incident). See below for some amazing pieces of work from the students in MLC.
Kind regards
Mr Brophy
