Congratulations to the Year 11 and 12 Drama students on their solo performances. With much of the work completed during remote learning, it was wonderful to finally see these come together in a fabulous showcase of talent.

Theatre In A Box

Mr Bleakley’s Year 11 Theatre Studies students experimented with the new “Theatre In A Box”.

Using the pieces provided, they designed a stage and lighting state for the play “Woman in the Window” which they read excerpts from in class.

9A Core Drama

Students in 9A have been working very hard all term to produce two plays, ‘Friend Request’ and ‘Status Update’.

These productions were entirely student-led and involved all aspects of taking a script to the stage.

The teamwork and collaboration is what made the performances so successful and the directors, designers, cast and crew should be very proud of themselves. Congratulations!

Theatre Monologues

Mr Bleakley's Year 11 Theatre Studies students recently performed their monologues for a small audience.

Two students chose to perform their monologue as an actor/director - Sian performing as 'Iff, The Water Genie' from the play 'Haroun and the Sea of Stories', and Briana as 'Emilia' from the play 'Emilia'.

While another two students chose to take the design option and used their presentation time explaining their designs in two areas and how an actor would use them - Willow designing costume and props for 'The Threepenny Opera' and Darcey designing costume and makeup for 'Lettice and Lovage'.

The majority of their work was completed during remote learning, no mean feat.
