Around The Primary
Dear Parents
Our Year 6 students and some Year 5 students gave their all at the IPSHA Winter Carnival on Thursday. We saw excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and comradery all day long in the various Netball, Soccer, Football and Hockey games. Thanks to all the Year 6 parents who helped with the catering and for supporting your children from the sidelines. Finally, a big thanks to Mr Williams for coordinating this fantastic Carnival, to all the staff who assisted on the day and to our secondary students for umpiring the many games.
We are now in the process of finalising reports for Semester 1. Our teachers have been working hard to assess and moderate student achievement in all learning areas. After reading the teachers’ General comments on the reports, it is obvious that our staff have built excellent relationships with the students and know them well. These reports will be available via SEQTA next Friday 1 July from 3:30pm. Please see further information below.
Thanks to our Year 5’s and Ms O’Connor, Mrs Volikov and Mrs Haydon for their informative and entertaining Assembly item about Democracy. They certainly put a lot of effort into the Assembly to ensure it ran so smoothly. Congratulations to all the students who received a certificate for their well-earned achievements.
Next Friday (1 July) is our annual ‘Casual Day’ for LifeLink and everyone in the Primary community is invited to come to school dressed in casual clothes.
On this day we hope to raise the students’ awareness of how fortunate we are to have access to everyday privileges. All students are asked to bring along a gold coin donation for LifeLink.
In addition, if you have a spare packet of tea bags, an extra supply of coffee/Milo or soup in your pantry, please send them to school on the day. These donations will be greatly appreciated by The Shopfront and St Vinnies during these winter months.
As we now have 5 days left of term and we all want these to be calm, happy, and full of learning. Please enjoy the weekend, make sure your children have plenty of sleep and are recharged for the last week.
Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary

Bishops' Religious Literacy Assessment
Next term our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be participating in the Bishops’ Religious Literacy Assessment (BRLA). This assessment will occur on the following days:
Year 5 | Wednesday 3 August |
Year 3 | Thursday 4 August |
The BRLA measures students’ knowledge and understanding of the content in the Religious Education Curriculum. It provides a ‘point in time’ snapshot of student performance. As with all assessments, we encourage students to approach the online assessment with a calm and positive mindset.
Sacramental Certificates
Congratulations to all the students that are participating in the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation at their local parishes.
Parents are requested to email a copy of their child’s Sacramental Certificate (Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation) to Mrs Petsos in Main Administration nancy.petsos@cewa.edu.au for our College records.

String Performances
On Tuesday, students representing the Mini Minors (Year 3) and String Orchestra (Year 4-6) presented their first performance for 2022. The Osborne Room boasted a full audience as the students demonstrated how far they have come in one short term of rehearsing as combined ensembles. Special thanks to Mr Kros, Mr Pitt and Mr Clapton for their expertise and enthusiasm in directing these students. We look forward to their next performance later this year.
