We have begun the term well and have welcomed four new class mates. We welcome Adam and Luke Munday and Frankie and River Gaehl to our fabulous class. Everyone has settled back into the term well and all are working very hard.
We are working on our reading skills during our Literacy block and are working on creating neat and well formed handwriting skills too. In our writing we wrote about our holiday events.
In Mathematics, we have revised our subtraction skills and challenged ourselves with some harder problems. We use different resources to help us with our learning, like counters, number lines, MAB blocks and number charts.
In our Inquiry Work, we have revised our understanding of NAIDOC Week and shared our knowledge with our new classmates. I was very impressed with what the children remembered over the holidays.
In sport, last Tuesday, we completed some dance moves, while playing some games! We have some impressive dancers with very rhythmic moves. This week Mrs G was back and the children enjoyed their sport session.
We are looking for small boxes and/or paper towel tubes, etc. for some work we are planning to create this term. If you can help us out with any boxes or tubes, then please send them in over the next week. Thanking you!
In our Tinga Tale last week, we learnt about why the woodpecker pecks and then created our own woodpecker. Ask your children to show you how they work and to tell you about our Tale! This week we learnt why the ostrich buries his head and made an ostrich. Ask your children about the story and get them to show you their ostrich.
We had a wonderful day today, celebrating 100 days of school for the year! We had some wonderful old visitors working with us today and some people from 100 years ago. The children enjoyed completing some fun activities based on our theme and had a great day. Thank you for all of your support in helping your children dress for the part!
Well done on a fabulous start to the term, everyone!
