Dear Families
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you had a restful break over the school holidays in preparation for what is shaping up to be a busy term. Yesterday, it was delightful to see our Year 5/6s head to Camp Rumbug for 3 days. Our students and staff are having a wonderful time - even enjoying a few degrees warmer weather than us!
A few updates...
Book Week
This term we celebrate Book Week (week 7). This year the theme is 'Dream with eyes open...' Our Dress Up Day will be on Friday 26th August and will be a Pyjama Party in alignment with the theme of dreaming. More information to come!
Extra School Closure Day
MACS has approved an extra pupil free day due to the impact that COVID-19 and flu cases have had on all schools in Semester 1. This pupil free day (school closure) for us will be on Friday 16 September, the last day of Term 3.
A reminder we also have a pupil free day (school closure) on Friday 12th August.
Getting ready to learn time
Thank you for working towards having your child/ren at school and independently in the classroom by 8.50 am. Our 'getting ready to learn' time is important for a successful start to the learning day which includes greetings, announcements and a positive activity.
Staffing
This semester we welcome back Aley Allen who has been on maternity leave. Aley will be our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Specialist. Our Prep - Year 2 classes will be have one session a week during weeks 1-5 and our Year 3-6s will be during weeks 6 -10.
For our garden program with Cultivating Communities, we have welcomed Kresta Mason to Fatima for Semester 2. Once again, our Prep - Year 2 classes will be have one session a week during weeks 1-5 and our Year 3-6s will be during weeks 6 -10.
Rania Ibrahim has been repositioned on a Thursday and Friday to provide more support in the area of tutoring and intervention. Jan Nagel is now taking 1/2O on Thursday's and Liz Atkinson 1/2J on Thursday's.
