STEP

Yr 7 STEP

Our Yr 7 STEP students are working hard on our new “Design a Car” unit.  Students have been broken up into small teams and are learning how to design and create using the Engineering Software “Fusion 360”.   The goal is to design a basic car using the software, which we 3D print and then race down our track.  Students also need to create a portfolio – including their team name and design a logo.  Next term, we will be having a competition where they will present their portfolios and race their cars.  There have been some amazing designs so far. Well done all, can’t wait to see what you produce next term!

Forensics

Our STEP Forensics students have been busy creating their Crime Scenes and last Friday 17th June they got to solve each others!

It was such a highlight, seeing them use the skills they have developed over the semester.  Well done everyone, you amaze me with your creativity and your rational and logical (mostly 😊) thinking to work out “who dunnit!  Thanks to my awesome helpers -  Year 12 Students Meily Phe and Mackenzie Lockward.

STEP Superchef

On Monday 16th May, the 2022 STEP Super Chef Class went on an inner Melbourne Foodie Tour. We visited  Brunetti’s on Flinders lane and the Hopetoun tea rooms in the Block Arcade. We walked past the Queen Vic markets and went on to tour the William Angliss Institute. After all our walking, we thoroughly enjoyed our three course fine dining meal.

If you look carefully you’ll see our very own Miss McKinna who previously studied at William Angliss

STEP Celebration Evening!

WOW…what a night!  With over 400 people in attendance, we had a fantastic night of Celebrating our students and what they have achieved in STEP!

Parents and students together were interacting with our Advanced 3D models and 3D printers, Water Rockets, Racing cars down the F1 track, students teaching their parents how to dissect, tasting delectable Churros and Hot Chocolates, being amazed by the Lego Mindstorm Robots and watching Edison Robots being coded to “Sumo Wrestling”, and Solving Crimes!  It was a night of true Celebration, showcasing where Creativity, Imagination, Passion and Dedication can take you!  Well done STEP teachers and students. You continue to inspire and amaze us all!
