Driver Training Program

Cecil Hills High School Driver

Our youth are the future of this country and education is vital to provide young, inexperienced drivers with every opportunity to be safe and responsible. As a result, the Cecil Hills High School - Driver Training Program has been revamped, with a core focus on "Keeping our students Safe". The project kicked-off in 2021, at no cost to our students as the program has been proudly supported and funded by Mounties. It provides eligible students with free driving lessons and has been highly successful, with many students benefiting from professional, relevant, contextual and explicit driving tuition. With a typical driving lesson costing on average $72.00 per hour, this provides some welcomed relief to our school community, due to the current events of COVID-19 and rising inflation.

For 2022, we have employed L Forces Driving School, with company Director Mr. Charbel Azzi delivering 5 driving lessons per student. These driving lessons keep in-line with current guidelines for the Roads and Maritime Services, and the NSW Department of Education. The project links to the NSW Keys2Drive initiative and aims to bring the learner driver and their parent/supervisor together, introducing them to a practical learning approach, giving them a realistic and accurate picture of the intricate details of driving. As a result, students get to benefit from each driving lesson counting towards 3 hours of log-book learning, meaning each student finishes up with 15 hours of registered log-book driver training/learning! We are happy to announce that we aim to continue to provide these driving lessons on-going for 2023.
