Food Technology

What do we do in the Support Unit when we discover pumpkins growing in our garden?

 

We cook pumpkin soup in Food Technology of course! The students in the Purple and Blue class chopped up the pumpkin, boiled it and then blended it with a dash of cream, salt and pepper and some stock. On a cold day a hot bowl of pumpkin soup with some crusty bread on the side certainly warmed up our bodies and souls. Who said chicken soup was good for the soul… it's pumpkin all the way! 

 

 

Other culinary creations cooked this term by all the classes included chicken and shiitake ramen, beef tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate croissants, Knafeh, scones with jam and cream, chocolate thickshakes, spaghetti bolognese and cookies . Another favourite was our Turkish garlic bread using fresh parsley from our garden.
