Junior School update

End of term

What a busy, fun-filled, learning-rich term the Junior School has enjoyed. It’s nearly time for a well-deserved break. We wish all our students and families a restorative and happy holiday when term ends on 24 June, after the culmination of all the hard work our performers have invested in their upcoming production of The Lion King. We remind all families that Monday 18 July is a staff day. We look forward to welcoming students back into their classrooms on Tuesday 19 July.

Year 4’s are Body Bright

During our Wellbeing lessons, Year 4 have been participating in the Body Bright program. Students have been BRAVE and made a pledge to positive classroom environment that is inclusive of everyBODY. We have looked at how the media augments and manipulates photographs to make destination holidays more appealing and have explored the varied ways our bodies are different based on our senses.

During Week 7, students were encouraged to develop ways of feeling gratitude towards their body through reflection using their body senses.

'I love that my body can see everything that beautiful around me, like nature.'

Ashleigh W

'I am grateful for my arms and legs, so I can swim!'

Misha P

'I love that my body can touch Paganini’s (my bird’s) tummy.'

Miranda S

'I like my body; it helps me smell pretty flowers.'

Christina (CJ) M

'I love that my body can taste different foods, right now I love the taste of sushi.'

Kiva Micro-Lending Program wraps up

We are excited to announce that the funds raised for Kiva across Term 1 totaled $527. This program ran in Years 3 to 6 and the class that raised the most was 6B who raised $221!

Many students helped at home, donated pocket money or found other great ways to raise the money themselves to add to their class’s account. These funds have been donated to support loans for small businesses owners and start-ups in developing countries. Kiva provides interest-free micro loans where a bank will not assist, and they assist thousands of businesses across the world. We are very grateful for all the work and generosity received from families.
