Year 7 to Year 9
The final Parent Information Night was held on Monday 20th February for Year 9 and it was great to see it so well attended. Thanks again to the parents and carers who were engaged in this important process in ensuring information is understood and connections can be made with the College and specific teachers.
With half the term almost completed it certainly has been a really positive start to the year. Elevate Education spoke to our students about how to manage their time, develop study skills and memory strategies, and parents were also offered support in helping their children in these areas too. Please see the emails sent out previously to see what has occurred.
The College's first Inter-House Swimming Carnival was a fun day and it was rewarding to see the students who attended, (whether they could swim or not!!!) enjoy building friendships and supporting their House Team. A huge thanks to Mr Loh and all the staff that helped on the day to make it a successful opportunity for our students. Training for our first ACC Swim Team has begun and those students will represent our College to the best of their abilities and have a 'fun day out' as well.
The Ash Wednesday and Salvado Day Mass were impressive Year 3 to Year 9 events where our students were able to show their reverence and maturity. It's always a proud moment when our young people take up the challenge to read at the Mass and show they have the strength and confidence to test themselves in this way.
Mrs Furfaro, the Religious Education and Faith Life Coordinator continues to provide opportunities for our students, and staff, to look at what we can do to support others through Caritas and Project Compassion 2023. Spanning across the six weeks of Lent, Project Compassion brings thousands of schools, parishes and supporters together to raise funds for the most marginalised communities around the world. At school, the challenge to donate the most amount of money has each House group looking to 'fill the boxes' so please help our students raise money as it all goes to a wonderful cause.
Today we had a wonderful opportunity to recognise our Middle School student leaders for 2023. The Year Coordinators and Mr Hagen distributed the Pastoral Care Group and House Representative badges which were blessed by Fr Mark at our Salvado Day Mass. Congratulations to these students and we all look forward to you giving of your time by serving others in your new roles.
