House Athletics Sports

House Athletic Sports are coming up on Friday 17th March. Notes regarding the sports will be available on XUNO soon.

We are looking for some parents who may be able to assist with set up before school, including putting up marquees, setting up events etc. So if you are able to assist in any way, please see Miss Feely.

On sports day, we encourage our students to wear the colours of their house. If you are unsure of this, please stop in and see your child's teacher. Miss Feely has been reminding students during PE which house they are in, so they may already know.

District Swimming

Congratulations to our 10 students who took part in the district swimming carnival a few weeks back. It was lovely to hear how well you supported and encouraged each other.

A huge congratulations goes out to Thea, who has qualified for the Regional Swimming meet, to be held late March.

From the Principal

Wow! We are already halfway through this term. Time flies when you are having fun!

School Council elections closed today, so I will be able to notify the school community of your parent and community representatives later this week. Our AGM for School Council will be next Tuesday 14th March, followed by our March Meeting. Even if you have not nominated to be a member, parents are welcome to attend monthly meetings as guests.

Over the next two weeks, we will be setting you our booking system for our Term 1 Parent / Teacher interviews. These will, once again, be booked using XUNO. Please keep an eye out for this information. Parents are welcome to have interviews face to face, via phone or WebEx. Each interview runs for strictly 15 minutes. If you believe you require more time, please speak to your child's teacher and alternative time can be made.

Yesterday, our teachers took part in after school professional learning delivered by Safe Schools Victoria. This professional development enhanced our teachers knowledge and understanding around supporting our LBGTIQ+ students and people in our community.  At Beaufort Primary School, we enact our Inclusion and Diversity policy, which looks at providing a safe and supportive environment for all students, including LBGTIQ+, Indigenous, students from other cultures, beliefs and backgrounds.

If you are interested in reading this policy, it is available on our school website.
