Grade 3/4 Students

Celebrating our tremendous Threes and fabulous Fours !

3/4A - Mr Bolger

Over the first few weeks, 3/4A have been discussing our Zones of Regulation. We have chatted about what it looks and feels like to be in the different zones. We worked on some Calming Strategies for when we feel like we’re in the yellow and red zones.

3/4B - Mrs Hults

It has been a positive start in 3/4B! I am beyond impressed with how all students have settled into the school year, and are always ready to learn.

This week we have been continuing our learning about persuasive texts and how to best convince the reader of our views. Students throughout the week are working their way through the stages of writing: planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. The students were given the opportunity to argue for or against a topic and justify their reasoning.

3/4C - Ms Margarita

In 3/4C, we begin our mornings with a class Circle Time to help us connect, start the day positively and get ready for learning. We start with an Acknowledgement of Country and then work through our checklist. Each student will get a turn to lead Circle Time and everyone has the chance to participate. Here is Jemima leading the Circle and students playing "Ruby Red" for positive primer.

3/4D - Ms Yvette

3/4D have had a wonderful couple of weeks of learning. Students have been walking away from Maths sessions beaming with delight as we have been playing many games, both mental and physical. A highlight has been learning and playing ‘Golf’ (a card game, no clubs and tees in the classroom!) and ‘Wishball’ (a computer game) both of which students can teach you in order to play at home together. In Literacy, we have been having so much fun with ‘Kung Fu Punctuation’, where punctuation marks have corresponding Kung Fu style actions and accompanying sounds. Ask your child to show you a comma, question mark, ellipses, a semi colon (amongst others) and be prepared to join in the fun and learning!

3/4E - Miss Ady

We have been revising how sentences are formed during Literacy sessions over the past few weeks. Here is the fabulous book work of Charlotte P from 3/4E where she is learning about subjects and predicates. Excellent work Charlotte!

As part of our Wellbeing program, we spent some time discussing different emotions and how these can fit into our Zones of Regulation. It was a very comprehensive list that students from 3/4E were able to come up with!
