Flora & Fauna
We are so excited to welcome Level 3 students and parents to Flora and Fauna for 2023!
Flora and Fauna runs every Tuesday between 12 – 1:30pm with all Level 3 students and teachers involved. Topics are on a five week rotation to ensure that each student experiences all that our Flora and Fauna Program has to offer.
Cooking: In the Gallery with Mrs O’Keefe.
Gardening: In the schoolyard with Mr Paddy O’Neill.
Science: In the classroom.
Sustainability: In the classroom.
Community: In the classroom.
Students will be in a different group to their regular class to enable collaboration and extended friendships to be developed beyond their usual classroom. At the conclusion of our five-week rotation the topics covered in the Science, Sustainability and Community subjects will be included in the following newsletter.
Please keep an eye on our Flora and Fauna page in future newsletters as we love to include lots of photos of our students gardening, harvesting vegetables, planting, exploring Science, Sustainability, and Community and of course cooking and eating!
We would love to see more parent helpers for the Gardening and Cooking rotations each week, and it has been lovely to see some family volunteers already!
Please keep a lookout for the next newsletter that will include a summary of what we have completed in our first rotation cycle, fun photos and special interviews with Mrs O‘Keefe and Mr Paddy O’Neill!
