News of the Week

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Your child/children have learned a lot during week 4 and 5.  We hope they will continue to be caring and compassionate. This week we are celebrating the Foundation level and asking them questions about school. They have been very interested in school and the friends they have made.

Shrove Tuesday

The Year 6 students enjoyed a 'Pancake Morning Tea' with our Foundation buddies to celebrate Shrove Tuesday this week.

Whole School Excursion

The staff have organised a whole school excursion to Healesville Sanctuary as a welcome back to school. We can’t wait for this day! The date for the excursion is Friday 31st March. An Operoo note will be sent to you next week.  (Don’t forget to sign it soon!)

 

Kind Carers, we would love for you to come on this fun excursion.  You are welcome to meet us at the Sanctuary and join us for lunch and a walk around the zoo. Admission to the zoo is $42 for adults, children 0-3 are free, 4/5 year olds are $21.00.  Should you wish to come along, families must pre-book tickets prior to arrival - Click here for the booking link.

Swimming Trials

We are looking forward to the District Swimming Carnival which is to be held on Wednesday 1st of March at the Noble Park Aquatic Centre.  This week we have interviewed two members of the St Brigid's Swim Team - Tabitha C and Spencer E.

 

Q1 - What strokes/relays are you competing in this year?

Tabitha - Breaststroke single, Backstroke single, Freestyle relay and Backstroke medley.

Spencer - Freestyle Relay.

Q2 - Are you excited?

Tabitha - Very exited!

Spencer - Yes.

Q3 - How much do you enjoy swimming on a scale of 1 - 10?

Tabitha - 10 

Spencer - 9

Q4 - What is your favourite stroke?

Tabitha - Breaststroke.

Spencer - Backstroke.

Q5 - What do you enjoy most about swimming?

Tabitha - Getting to enjoy the fresh water.

Spencer - Swimming backstroke.

 

Each morning after training the Swim Team have enjoyed breakfast together back at school. It was really exciting on Wednesday when there were left over pancakes from Shrove Tuesday!

5/6 Interschool Sports  

Last Friday we played Cricket, Volley Stars, Rounders and Tennis against Mordialloc Beach.

Both the girls and boys tennis teams won. It was very hot when they played.  The tennis scores were: boys won 9-3 and the girls won 7- 5.

 

Tomorrow - Friday the 24th of February we vs  St John Vianney's (SJV) at home.

What Foundation think about Ash Wednesday Mass

Q1 - What is Ash Wednesday about?

Lachie - Its when we go into the Hall and get a cross on your head.  

Q2 - What is your favourite part about Ash Wednesday?

Riley D - I like the sound of Ash Wednesday

Lachie - The excitement of finding out what it's about.

Q3 - On a scale of 1 - 10 how much do you like Ash Wednesday?

Riley D - 10

Lachie - 10
