HOUSE SWIMMING CARNIVAL
Hi Ripper families,
We recently hosted the 2023 Year 3-6 House Swimming Carnival at the Prahran pool, it was a very fun-filled day and we are so proud of everyone for trying their best. So here’s what happened........
We all got on the bus at 9:00 am and started swimming at 9:45 am, it was a perfect day for a swim! All houses did exceptionally well but the overall winner was …. Furneaux which is Bemin - ring-tailed possum with a score of 348 points! The races were freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke. They were also a few relays such as freestyle, kickboard and pool noodle relays. By the end of the day, we were tired and headed back to school. Funny moment - one bus forgot to pick us up.
All the individual races were 50 meters and the relays were 25 meters.
We are so proud of everyone who got in the pool and gave it a go!

WELCOME PICNIC
The Welcome Picnic was a super fun event, especially the dance-off with the parents against the kids. Both kids and adults danced pretty well, but we think the kids won that one sorry Miss D :)
Thanks to all parents who helped with the icy poles, cupcakes and sausages.
Thanks also to the parents who did the music, it sounded awesome.
The Dancers were super cool and they could get down with the boogie.
STUDENT WELLBEING LEADERSHIP TEAM
The student wellbeing team have planned lots of fun events coming up later this year such as the Easter Egg Hunt. We are most excited about starting lunchtime clubs. Chess Club, A club for Years 3-6 and the kids who like playing chess now have the opportunity to play in competitions. Another club is Basketball Club, for Years 3-6. This club will help boost kids’ confidence and help them with their skills. See below for some more clubs.
LUNCHTIME CLUBS
Dance Club
Hi, my name is Harriet and Luna and we will be running a Dance Club. It’s free for everyone that wants to try it. It will be on every 2 weeks at Tuesday lunchtime.
It is not compulsory and It’s all just a little bit of fun. It only goes for 25 min and you do not have to stick around the whole time. So, come along and learn some new cool dance moves with Harriet and Luna!
Book Club
This term on Thursdays every second week there will be a Book Club for 3-6s at the library so dive into your favourite book and share with others. It will be on the second half of lunchtime. Sign-up sheets will be inside near the staff room. If you have any questions about any of these clubs ask Mika D, Luna M., Harriet P, Lewis S or Daghda H. These are also the members of this year’s well-being team.
Dungeons & Dragons Club
Hello heroes, my name is Daghda the dungeon master of D&D. My fellow heroes on what you call Friday there will be a D&D club with me as your dungeon master in the library. Sign-up sheets will be all around the school and it will be for Years 3-6 only, the campaign will be war with the lich king.
D&D will help students with maths, making new friends and growing their imagination. In the D&D club, you will play through my campaign and play as their custom-made characters (characters sheets will be provided but not minis) the game will go every Friday for thirty minutes in real-time, and in-game time will be 3 days.
