OUR FAITH

PRAYER

Dear God,

Please bless our grandparents.

Thank you for the life they gave my parents and for the life they give to me.

For the ways they helped me and made me strong, I give thanks.

For the ways they love me no matter what, I rejoice.

For the ways they have paved the road that leads me here, I am grateful.

Let them grow in wisdom and joy in life.

Let them find peace and rest from their work. Let them be healed of every sickness and pain. And let them see with their own eyes the glory of your Son, Jesus, in the love of their children and grandchildren. Bless them always until they come to rest in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

We pray ...

We pray for... all students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, for our grandparents, for all who are recovering from illness and for those who have recently lost loved ones.

GRANDPARENTS DAY

One of the happiest and biggest days on our school calendar unfortunately will need to be postponed.

CONFIRMATION - (Year 6)

The dates for Confirmation are Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September. Parents who did not attend one of the information sessions at the Church now need to contact the Parish office on 6766 2228 to obtain the Confirmation pack in order to proceed with the sacrament.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY WEEK - Week 3

Bishop Michael Kennedy has designated next week, Week 3, as Marriage and Family Week for the Armidale Diocese. The week includes the celebration of the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne on Monday 26th July. The theme for Marriage and Family Week is 'The Family: I am with you always'

The quotation used as the theme for 2021’s Marriage and Family Week, “I am with you always”, is found in Jesus’ “Great Commission” to his apostles and to all his followers, including us. We find it at the very end of Matthew’s gospel; “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28;18-20)

Having commanded us to act, Jesus reassures us that we are not alone and that we will never be alone. Jesus doesn’t present us with a clear plan of how we are to lead people to wish to be disciples. Recent decades have seen the Church’s understanding of mission change. The Church knows that one of the most important things it can do is to accompany people in the realities of their everyday lives (Marriage and Family Booklet 2021 - CSO Armidale).
