Online Learning at St Pius X College. Advice for Parents

As online learning continues throughout the College, parents/carers may be interested to learn more about the foundation of the College's online learning plan.

Snowy Hike 2021 - Planning has Begun!

Today, all Year 11 Parents should have received an email containing an information package for the Year 11 Snowy Hike Expedition. This voluntary expedition takes place in the last week of school in Term 4. Students finish school slightly earlier to allow this opportunity to take place.

Fortunately, experience from 2020 showed that lockdowns do end, and opportunities do open up for our students. As such, we are maintaining our timeline and planning phase for the Year 11 Snowy Hike 2021. The restrictions around COVID-19 protocols are being monitored and we will make informed decisions based around NSW Health and other relevant policies and recommendations as we move forward. The health of our students and staff is the utmost priority. 

Traditionally, this activity involves your son hiking through the Kosciuszko National Park. This is a 5 - 6 day walk across some of the most rugged country in Australia. Typically, the route goes from Round Mountain, near Cabramurra, through the Mt Jagungal wilderness onto the main range to Mt Kosciuszko and Thredbo (conditions permitting). An alternate route may be required depending upon National Park requirements and any restrictions in Thredbo.

Departs:  Thursday 2 December, meeting at 7.00 pm for approx. 9.00 pm departure from St Pius X College, Anderson St.

Returns:  Wednesday 8 December at approx. 4.00 pm. 

If you are interested in this activity for your son, please check your email regarding timelines, payment and the enrolment procedure. The link will open 6.00 pm Friday 9 August and works on a first in first served basis.
