Wellbeing & Engagement

What a wonderful Term we have had at Rangeview this winter! Despite the cold weather and the regular showers, our students have been participating in a huge range of activities and programs and have played outside in our lovely grounds almost every day.
The new Junior Soccer Pitch has been a huge success with students from Foundation – Grade 2 playing there every day – and sometimes teachers…..
The Grade 3 – 6 GaGa Pit has been grassphalted and is in constant use at playtimes and we completed construction on the new Foundation – Grade 2 GaGa pit at the Term 3 Working Bee. This will also have grassphalt laid in the near future. I know our junior grades are very excited to start playing this game in a pit of their own.
A huge thank you to our parents and students who attended the working bee on Saturday 15th June. We spread fresh softfall in the top playgrounds and constructed the GaGa Pit for the Junior grades. It is so lovely to work alongside families for a few hours and help to keep our grounds maintained and safe.
Natalie Powell has been running fantastic Social and Games groups with students from across the school on a Wednesday this term. Some of the junior groups looked at using social skills when interacting with each other, further developing communication skills by asking and answering questions during various games, practising team work and cooperation whilst performing group tasks and also exploring what it means to be a friend and have friendship with others. Others groups focused on developing our communication skills by asking and answering questions during various games, practising team work and cooperation whilst performing group tasks and also talking about what it means to be a friend and have friendship with others. They explored the idea and practice of perseverance and looking at our own strengths (what we can do) that can help when faced with challenging games and tasks. Natalie will continue to run groups with some of the same students and some new groups of students in Term 3. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful program to support our students.
I hope you all have a restful and safe holiday period and return ready for a wonderful Term 3.
