Stage 6

During the past fortnight, Stage 6 have been focusing on developing good habits regarding assessment, personal organisation and study skills. Year 11 had a highly successful day addressing assessment procedures and participated in taster lessons around essential study skills. These will be developed further through the year in Crew sessions. All the information from the day has been shared with families via email and will be available on our Web page.

Last Friday all Year 12 had the opportunity to undertake workshops in an exciting online study program, "Studiosity". Through our strong partnership with UNE, Armidale Secondary College Year 12 students and teachers have been provided free access to Studiosity, and Goalhub .

Goalhub is a platform which allows teachers to manage individual learning plans, and support students with goal-based personalised learning. Goalhub provides a private space for students to create goals and communicate with teachers around goal attainment. Goalhub is an effective way to engage and encourage all students, regardless of their academic ability; and keep parents and guardians informed of the student’s achievements and progress.

Furthermore, Mrs Hardman, our Careers Advisor, will be using the Goalhub platform extensively as student approach the milestones and deadlines associated with the HSC and tertiary study applications.

Studiosity is 24/7 on-demand study help for HSC students in a variety of subjects. This platform allows students to access:

The 'Writing Feedback' service: offering constructive academic writing feedback in less than 24 hours. This service directs the students to focus on areas for attention and development. CVs and resumes are also accepted and feedback provided on grammar, spelling, structure and readability.
The 'Connect Live' service: offering one-to-one, personal help in real time, allowing students to formulate their own question, then work with subject specialists in the interactive classroom - with chat, collaborative whiteboard, and file sharing.

At the workshop students uploaded work samples and should have received feedback already. It was a great session and we encourage all our Year 12 students to use this invaluable resource.
